A Mom Gets A Beautiful Smile with Invisalign Treatment

23 Apr

Posted by Joseph Coupal

As a mom you tend to sacrifice some things you want to do for yourself…it’s just what you do…but I was always really self-conscious about my teeth. I had a lot of crowding on the bottom, I hid my smile a lot when I laughed and when I was among friends…and so I finally decided to do something for myself and got Invisalign.

Invisalign was amazing. The aligners were clear and comfortable and hardly anyone knew I had them in. I ate what I wanted, brushed my teeth and flossed like I normally do, and in 12 months I had the beautiful smile I had always imagined.

We can't tell you exactly how long your treatment will take. But, on average, Invisalign treatment takes about one year. The cost of treatment is similar in cost to traditional braces. In addition, if you have orthodontic coverage, Invisalign is often covered to the same extent as traditional braces. Dr. Smith also offers a variety of affordable payment plans. Our office will be happy to work with you on all of the insurance and financial details.

Treatment With Invisalign is Quick and Easy

With Invisalign, you don’t wear metal braces. Instead, your teeth are straightened by wearing a series of clear plastic aligners. The aligners are so inconspicuous that most people won’t be able to tell you’re wearing them. You’ll wear each set of clear aligners for about two weeks at a time, while your teeth move little by little toward the smile you’ve always wanted.  The aligners are worn all the time, except when you’re eating, drinking anything but water, brushing, and flossing.  Because the aligners are removable, you can eat all your favorite foods.

Straighter Teeth are Healthier Teeth

Straight teeth are healthier teeth and can lead to:

Healthier Gums

  • Properly positioned teeth are easier to brush and floss than teeth that are crowded, crooked, or spaced too far apart. Properly aligned teeth can help gums “fit” tighter around them, which may lead to better periodontal health.

Easier Cleanings

  • With maintenance of good oral hygiene, the chances of having plaque retention, tooth decay, and periodontal disease can be reduced.
If your teeth are misaligned, Invisalign should be considered to straighten your teeth and help prevent periodontal disease—all without the hassle of brackets and wires.

Orthodontic Treatment May Be Critical to Ensuring Overall Health

If your teeth are misaligned, it could be more than a cosmetic issue. Undergoing orthodontic treatment to straighten your teeth may be a critical part of ensuring your overall health.

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment option that allows doctors to straighten teeth using a series of clear, removable, nearly invisible, plastic appliances called aligners. Since Invisalign is removable, you can brush and floss normally, which helps prevent periodontal disease and tooth decay.

In fact, clinical studies have shown that gingival health may improve with the use of Invisalign during orthodontic treatment.

Advances in Orthodontics New Technology

Americans of all ages are spending more time and money improving their smiles through cosmetic dental work or orthodontics. Some experts attribute our recent attention to orthodontics to more aesthetic, less noticeable treatment options made possible by cutting-edge technology. One of the most popular – and most high-tech – of these innovations is Invisalign.

Invisalign is a method of straightening teeth using a series of clear, almost invisible, removable Aligners. Invisalign combines the doctor’s clinical treatment plan with proprietary 3-D, computer-generated software to make these sets of unique, custom-made Aligners that move teeth in very precise increments.

But Invisalign isn’t the only innovation in dental and orthodontic practices today. Offices like Dream Smile Dental are using digital photography and video, chair-side laptops and Internet access, and a host of technology-based products to educate patients about their dentition and engage them in the treatment process.
